Forgot My Password!!
Wow...that was close. I thought I was going to have to start all over again.
I forgot my password for my blog. Which means that it's been far too long since I've posted.
So, here's the latest. You know about the teeth, well, there's still just two - thank goodness. The biting has lessened, which is nice. Jayla is now sitting up on her own. She has been since just before she was 7 months. I had set her against the bed (on the floor) in the spare room. We were playing with the ball. This was going on for a few minutes, then I thought, wow, she's not even leaning. I checked and she wasn't right against the bed. There was some space. Yay! She was sitting on her own. Now she's a master sitter. She can sit for over an hour at a time. She'll sit there and play with her toys...and babble to herself.
Another thing, she now babbles - dadadada mostly, and sometimes it's babababababa - and lots of raspberries still. She's quite the chatterbox. She just babbles on and on. It's adorable. Less squealing - which is nice. The babbles are easier on our ears.
We're trying to teach her patty-cake. Grandma tries everytime she sees her. A couple times after we went through the song, and then I said, where's your patty cakes, she clapped her hands together, but with the front of her hand on the back of her hand - apparently that's how my sister did it when she was first learning too. And peek-a-boo. If I cover her face with a blanket, and say Where's Jayla, she'll pull the blanket off, and I say peek-a-boo. So, I'm not sure if that counts but it's pretty entertaining.
Sleeping...hmm...always a controversial subject in this house. She had been sleeping 8-11 hours since about 4-4.5 months, then that wicked tooth came, just before 6 months - and it stopped. She was getting up 1-2 times most nights. There were some she was still sleeping through, but not every night. So, just recently, about 1.5 weeks ago, we started (well, I started) sleep training. I decided that she really doesn't need to be up in the middle of the night - and she certainly doesn't need to be eating. So, I stopped going to her. If it gets really bad, which it hasn't more than a couple times, I go in, pat her and say, 'it's time to go back to sleep, good night Jayla' - and sometimes she'll cry for an hour, but she does go back to sleep. Knock on wood, the last 3 nights she slept through, so hopefully she is back on track.
Okay, so 7.5 months already. I'm dreading having to go back to work and leave Jayla with someone. It's going to break my heart. I have to stop counting down the time I have left and just enjoy every second with her. She is so amazing. And she is such a different baby then she was for the first 17 weeks. She's happy - and playful and she smiles all the time. (well, unless she's tired or hungry, or mad cause I've had her on her tummy too long).
I'll try and keep up with this. I know I say that all the time, but really, I need to keep better track of stuff. I'm already finding that I'm forgetting too much that happened at the beginning.
